As New. A 1979 Standard Publishing activity coloring book that was never coloured in. The interior coloring pages are entirely unused, the pages are white and crisp with no writing or highlighting, and the binding is intact. The yellow cover remains bright with its colour fully intact, showing moderate surface scuffing consistent with forty-plus years of shelf storage. The front cover carries its original printed badge reading "Use Redi-Stix Seals #1919 with this book," and a small Christian Supply price sticker sits on the back cover. Not an ex-library copy - no stamps, pockets, date-due slips, spine labels or withdrawal marks. The spine is not fully shown in the photographs taken. Remarkable survival for a children's activity book of this age.

For 15 years I've been an Oregon CPA, and for 10 of those I taught tax and accounting at the college level. But my proudest work has nothing to do with numbers: I homeschooled my daughter from preschool through freshman year and in September she will be starting the 10th grade - homeschooling.
This season taught me a good book can shape how a child sees the world. Every title I choose has to engage young minds to think critically and navigate this world with real understanding. Every book has a story — but it only means something when a child lives it.
Why Papa Duck? I was "Uncle Duck" to my nieces and nephews for years — duck pictures fill my office, Mallards are my favorite. When my grandson arrived last year, the family asked what he'd call me. There was only one answer.
