Il volume, diviso in cinque centurie, contiene brevi notizie bio-bibliografiche su 500 scrittori romani di ogni tempo i cui nomi sono elencati per ordine alfabetico in fine. Opera ancora assai utile a consultarsi soprattutto per gli autori meno conosciuti. Dieci anni dopo l'autore pubblicò un secondo volume con analoghe caratteristiche. Bell'esemplare. Olschki, Choix XI, 17475 e Rossetti III, 6530 (registrano entrambi l'opera completa).
