This indispensable treasury of royalty-free graphic designs contains over 1,200 finely drawn illustrations in 21 basic subject categories. Whatever motif or device you need for a graphic project, chances are you'll find just the right spot in these pages. Choose from these categories: Floral motifs, Fleurs-de-lys, Crosses, Snowflakes, Ships, Anchors, Butterflies, Lions, Griffins, Nymphs, Crowns, Compasses, Suns, Decorative motifs, Decorative Frames and Borders, Squares, Ellipses, Playing card suit symbols, Rectangles, Decorative patterns, Circles.
Each category presents a wide variety of variations on the basic theme. For instance, "ships" includes a Viking vessel, galleons, clippers, schooners, and many other ships. Among the "Suns" are solar shapes with slightly scalloped edges as well as elaborately embellished discs, while "Butterflies" presents a delightful array of delicate and elegant forms.
In addition to the almost mind-boggling variety of individual designs, graphic artists will find inspiration and ideas in a special section of graphics created by combining a number of basic elements shown throughout the book. This versatility, along with breadth of selection and the careful, accurate rendering of each motif, makes this volume a valuable resource you'll turn to again and again for just the right pictorial or decorative touch.
Dover (1990) republication of the edition originally titled Etcetera, published by Van Nostrand Reinhold Company, New York, 1980.
