Every child has big feelings. Learning to care for them is a powerful life skill.
BIG BUBBLE, LITTLE BUBBLE: A Book About Understanding and Caring for Our Feelings is an engaging picture book that helps children explore emotions through playful, easy-to-understand metaphors. Sometimes a child’s bubble feels big, bright, and full; other times it feels small, dim, or overwhelmed. Through expressive illustrations and simple explanations , young readers learn how their thoughts, emotions, and everyday experiences shape their inner world.
Fostering social-emotional learning (SEL), this book introduces simple, practical tools for emotional awareness and self-regulation. Children discover how kindness, movement, rest, time in nature, and connection can help their bubbles glow—while stress, too much screen time, or bottled-up emotions can cause them to shrink. Without judgment or pressure, the story empowers kids to notice their feelings, name what’s happening, and take age-appropriate steps to care for themselves.
BIG BUBBLE, LITTLE BUBBLE supports early emotional development, self-soothing, and confidence with big feelings in a way children can truly understand. Ideal for families, classrooms, counselors, and therapists, this book offers a positive foundation for lifelong emotional well-being.

About the Author
Diane Hullet has always loved stories-first as a child, then a teacher, later a mom, and now a writer and podcaster. With an English degree from University of Colorado Boulder and a master's degree from Stanford University, she co-founded Two Wrens Press with her daughter in 2025. When not recording her podcast Best Life Best Death, she's likely making something crafty with her hands.
Kris Aro McLeod is the illustrator of several children's books, including Catch a Kiss and Granny Smith Was Not an Apple. When she's not in the studio, you can find her nurturing her bubble by walking near a big, beautiful lake in Michigan or riding her bike around Detroit. She loves a good read, a yummy snack, and spending time with her extra-large family.
