About the Author
Duke Damron was raised in a family that enjoyed the outdoors. He has been pursuing wild game his entire life. In 2000, he founded and managed a unique website for almost a decade where he served as a broker to connect hunters with outfitters who had difficulty in finding a “quality hunt for the right price”. Over that time, he personally developed a database of over 1,000 different hunts across the Southern United States which enabled Duke to learn a tremendous amount of information about the industry and the unique flexibility that exists. This service was in Texas Trophy Hunters Magazine and was once coined as “hunting matchmaker” by the Lufkin Daily News (Lufkin, TX) based on the model of matching hunters to outfitters with specific offerings. Duke has helped numerous hunters over the years find affordable hunting, and his service was even exhibited at the Texas Hunters Extravaganza, commonly referred to as the “Granddaddy of ALL Texas hunting shows.” Duke is an experienced outdoorsman who thoroughly appreciates the freedom we have to enjoy our natural resources. Since shooting his first quail in Oklahoma at age 10, he has added over 30 years of additional experiences to his hunting and fishing background. Duke has been blessed to experience adventures over a vast portion of North and Central America. These bucket-list type experiences include such adventures as Kansas pheasant hunting, turkey hunting in the Mississippi river delta, Texas hill country axis deer hunting, rainbow bass fishing in Costa Rica, shooting Tennessee Russian boar with his long bow and even bow fishing out of air boats in Southern Louisiana. Growing up in East Texas, he could be found in the piney woods catching wild hogs, but he also found time to travel for unique experiences such as peacock bass fishing in Florida, fly fishing for rainbow trout in New Mexico, and halibut fishing in Alaska. But his most cherished memories include hunting with his children, including a Life Hunt with his son and Buckmaster’s founder Jackie Bushman for trophy whitetail in Alabama and taking his daughters to wildlife management areas for incredible big game hunting. He has a passion for the outdoors and hopes to instill that same mindset in others by sharing unique ideas that can allow you access to some of the best adventures of your life. The best part is that his secrets can help you prove that it is still affordable today.
