The time is 1953 and African safaris are at their peak. When a client of Big Jim & Caesar Wilde's African Safaris suffers a fatal accident, the threat of losing his hunter's license is all too real. Then the Game Department and an American Photo Journalist offer a chance to keep their company afloat. All they must do is sort out troubling reports of a mysterious creature wreaking havoc amongst local villages.
What begins as an amazing journey through jungles, savannahs, and vast veldts becomes sheer terror when they face off with a beast local natives believe to have been conjured by a witch doctor. With his reputation as one of the best guides in the territory on the line, Big Jim realizes he is facing off with a wild beast like no other he has come across.
Will his experience and perseverance be enough to defeat this creature?
Get ready for the adventure of a lifetime in this spine-tingling novel set during the golden age of African safaris!
"Big Jim presents a delightfully involving African saga for readers! The story is replete with undercurrents of social change, wildlife management, and hunting politics and is a recommendation for readers who want more than a singular action novel. The 'you-are-there' action captures attention, but it's the interplay between reporter Mary, Big Jim, Caesar Wilde, and the wider questions of African issues that capture attention and pose unexpected insights into Africa's special world." - Midwest Book Review

Store description
Originally started as an amateur venture, Seagull Books has grown into a knowledgable and reputable on-line book vendor. Our inventory is growing all the time, and we are constantly updating our stock with the latest finds. Whilst we do not currently offer a book tracing service, we are always happy to hear from customers looking for a particular title, and may just be able to help. We specialise in out-of-print books - particularly paperbacks - and never cease to be amazed at what is no longer considered worth publishing! Many of our customers clearly share that view.…
