A group of mostly young, international authors looks at Ancient Egyptian images in terms of their function as aesthetic artefacts and asks questions about culture-specific modes of perception and communication, as well as contexts and communicative conditions and strategies. The Munich Research Group of Young Egyptologists provides a forum for young researchers to exchange and present new research approaches and results in Egyptology. The MAJA workshops are regularly held in the form of an open discussion and presentations on a specific topic.
