Il expose ses premières sculptures chez Robert Delpire à Paris en 1974. Il se définit comme un « constructeur de machines ludiques, à bruits, à couleurs, à feu d'artifice, à vent, à eau : carnavalesques ». Ses sculptures renouent avec toute une tradition d'art populaire. Ses personnages sont des équilibristes, des héros mythologiques, des pêcheurs mais aussi des liseuses, des mères avec leurs enfants ou des couples enlacés. Découpées dans de fines plaques de tôle, sans assemblage ni soudure, ou composées de fil de fer, les sculptures au moindre souffle d?air se mettent en mouvement et nous révèlent un monde infiniment poétique. Il décrit lui-même son travail comme une jonglerie entre les souvenirs d?enfance, les pages du dictionnaire, et l?art populaire, la chose qui l?émeut le plus.» 600 gr.
