Bill Nye's Red Book

Thompson and Thomas, Chicago, 1906. Red cloth hardbound with white lettering and black pictography. Has some edge and spine wear, light soil and some fading to letters. Full page humorus engravings through out the book, with one of the author as frontispiece. Some pages darkening. From the title page: "This is the fourth book that I have published in reponse to the clamorous appeals of the public. I had long hoped to publish a larger, better, and if possible a redder book than the first. One that would contain my better thought: thoughts that ihad thought when I was feeling well: thoughts that I had omitted when my thinker was rearing up on its hind feet, if I may be allowed that term: thoughts that sprang forth with a wild whoop and demanded recognition. This book is the result of that hope and that wish. It is my greatest and best book, Bill Nye". A large compilation of humorous thoughts and deeds accompayed by very funny illustrations. Most unusual old book. A nice copy.
