Volumes I, II, and III, dated 1868 and 1876. The main photo is of our set. All three volumes are in exceptionally solid condition considering their age. An apparent water stain is visible at the top and bottom edges of all three volumes, but the pages are not damaged nor does the stain extend past a 1/32 inch into the pages. Cloth portion of spine is faded on all three volumes, beginning to tear on volume 1, has been torn and chipped and since repaired on volume 2. All three volumes have been stamped on front endpage by previous owner. Rear cover of volume 1 has been cracked. Boards are showing in one small tear on volume 2's spine. Top end of front cover of volume 2 is beginning to crack. One half of the pages in volume 2 have separated but have only just begun to separate from their binding. Volume 3 has a red marking upper front cover. Pages 110 and 111 are uncut! First page is torn at the very top. Water staining extends 1/2 inch into books, much more severe than the other two volumes though is only a stain, not actual water damage. Two pages have a marking from where a newspaper clipping was between the pages for decades. Pages in all 3 volumes appear to be clean and unmarked, without underlining, pencil marks, or any other marks of any other kind.
