Brown foredge stains penetrating into the margins of the text in the last half of the book. Light foxing to contents. Inscribed "To Robert Fowler Hemphill. From his fathers friend - John O. Waddell. Atlanta Ga. May. 11. 1898." Linton Stephens, from Sparta Georgia, was the half brother of the Vice President of the Confederacy Alexander Stephens. He was Chief Justice of Georgia's Supreme Court during the Civil War. Many of the letters inside are addressed by Linton Stephens to Alexander Stephens during the War. Seller Inventory # 10755
