"Thirty Copies Only Printed". Magnificent production 24 x 29 x 6.5 cms hardbound in plain olive green cloth gilt, gilt very bright. 834 pages. Bears a Book Plate "The Brother Julian, F.S.C. Collection. Donated by Mr. Christian A. Zabriskie. New York City". There is a tiny 1 cm by 1cm reference label: "Z. 923.273. S216 1884". The Title Page gives no publishers name: Only: "Philadelphia 1884". Title page reads: "Illustrated with numerous Engravings of the Portraits and Residences of the Signers, etc., on India Paper Mounted". There are fifty-six B & W mounted illustrations laid on, in fact. A librarian or cataloger has written in pencil, title page verso: "Copy 1. B.C.". Title page has a three inch closed edge tear with no loss. We understand that the Book Plate "F.S.C." refers to: The Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools, also known as the Christian Brothers, the Lasallian Brothers, the French Christian Brothers, or the De La Salle Brothers.
