About the Author

Kai Simons is a world-renowned Finnish cell biologist. He currently works in Dresden, where he is director of the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics. He also founded and was president of the European Life Science Organization (ELSO) before it merged with EMBO.
