Biopolymers Based Advanced Materials (Volume 2) (Bio-Engineering)

Biopolymers have gained increasing importance in the development of numerous environmentally friendly materials for a wide variety of applications. The development of strategies such as blending, bio- nanocomposites as well as structural modifications such as chain extension and hyperbranching has further enhanced their potential. The resulting advanced materials have the potential to compete with traditionally used non-biodegradable polymers, thus, eventually replacing them. The book targets many such advanced biopolymers-based systems and presents deep insights into their generation, properties and performance in different applications.

The book is a valuable reference for chemical, biochemical and materials engineers, as well as plastics and coatings technologists. It presents a wealth of information for the practicing scientists and researchers in both industry and academia. The book also serves as a reference text for the postgraduate university students in materials, polymer, chemical and bio-engineering disciplines.
