An outstanding near complete run, the early issues are rare. First published, in large quarto form, as 'Nature Lovers' Notes' from 1931-1935; from 1936 to 1974 it was produced in half folio originally titled 'Monthly Notes', then titled 'The Bird Observer'. PROVENANCE: The set of Helen Aston (1934-2020), Bird Observer Club stalwart and professional botanist at the Melbourne Herbarium.
