Sarojini Naidu's poetry is a rhythmic and vibrant celebration of the wonders of the natural world. Her verses explore profound themes such as the essence of life, the passage of time, the mysteries of love, and the inevitability of mortality. As a poet who holds truth and beauty in high esteem, Naidu uncovers the extraordinary within the ordinary, embracing imperfections and generously sharing her artistic talents with all. "The Bird of Time" stands as a cherished anthology of poetry, a testament to the meticulous craftsmanship of the gifted Sarojini Naidu. This book includes several poem collections, including "Songs of Love and Death," "Songs of the Springtime," "Indian Folk-Songs," and "Songs of Life." About The Author: Sarojini Naidu (1879-1949) was an eminent Indian poet and political activist. Born into a Bengali Brahmin family in Hyderabad, she achieved her graduation from the University of Madras at the age of twelve. She then embarked on a journey to England, where she pursued her studies at King's College London and Cambridge. At nineteen, she entered into matrimony with physician Paidipati Govindarajulu Naidu, with whom she raised five children. Following a stint in London working alongside Annie Besant, Naidu dedicated herself to Gandhi's Satyagraha movement. She fearlessly faced arrest during the Salt March of 1930 and tirelessly propagated the principles of civil disobedience on a global scale. As one of the most esteemed poets of twentieth-century India, Naidu published remarkable collections of poetry, including "The Golden Threshold" (1905), "The Bird of Time" (1912), and "The Broken Wing" (1917).
