About this Item
A very nice birds-eye view photograph of the Ray Copper Mining Co. taken by photographer C.F. Altfillisch. Two companies would be formed to mine the area, the Mineral Creek Mining Company in 1880 and the Ray Copper Company in 1883. In 1910 the companies merged to form the Ray Consolidated Copper Company. Over time, the mine went through several changes in ownership. The Image, which is in its original frame measures approximately 29 1/2" x 5 1/4" (total image of framed photograph is 30 1/2" x 7 1/2". There is one copy at the Arizona Consolidated Copper Company collection at the Arizona Historical Society. Altfillisch was the chief engineer at the Company from 1920-1926 before becoming the engineer for the Indian Service in 1930. Seller Inventory # 031961
