Birds of Prey : Blue Ribbon Techniques

Master the art of avian sculpture by carving and painting 10 detailed projects for various birds of prey.

With well organized, beautifully illustrated instructions for creating realistic wooden sculptures of popular birds of prey, Bill Veasey’s latest guide is sure to inspire carvers to build their skills—without feeling intimidated by the techniques.

The book includes:

• Projects for grey and red screech owls, saw whet owl, snowy owl, osprey, American kestrel, female merlin, peregrine falcon, goshawk, and red-tailed hawk
• 300 photographs to guide readers on their way
• Color paint charts for accurately painting the projects plus other species of eagles, hawks, and owls

Avid bird carvers will delight in this volume’s attention to detail at every stage in the process.

William Veasey was a respected wildfowl carver and instructor who published over a dozen books on the craft. In 2015, he was recognized by the Ward Foundation Museum for his contributions.
