Caption: 'Antwerpiae nobilissimi totius orbis terraru[m] emporii typus anno M.D.LXXXI'. Engraving on laid paper, with old colouring, sheet size 364 x 294 mm., image size 324 x 238 mm. This map is from the book 'Descrittione di M. Lodovico Guicciardini patritio Fiorentino di Tutti I Paesi Bassi altrimenti detti Germania Inferiore', Antwerp: Plantin, 1581. Originally, there would be a numbered legend below the image, here that is cropped. In poor condition, cropped to or over the platemark, and mounted on contemporary paper. Original middle fold. Three spots of paper loss in the top edge of the image (mostly in the river and moat around the city). Seller Inventory # 69971
