About this Item

A beautiful little book measuring just 112 x 74 x 20mm. The charming Mauchline Ware binding has a general view of Burntisland (Fife)l on the front and another on the back, depicting Kirkbank Greenmount, the Binn. The text is published by the Book Society and is not actually dated, but a presentation inscription on one of the front blank end papers is dated 1876. The text is in good, tight, clean condition, with all edges brightly gilt. Some of the blank pages opposite the alternate text pages have hand-written entires, as expected. Tiny corner neatly trimmed on 2 front blank end papers. The wood binding, with a handsome red leather and gilt-decorated spine, is also in very good, tight, firm condition. Weight 118gg.
