Synopsis
In the late 1800’s a wonderful tale flowed out of the mind of Mark Twain onto the pages of a novel entitled The Prince and the Pauper. In this story two boys discovered they were identical in appearance and determined to change places with one another for a season to experience life from the other’s perspective. One of the boys was Prince Edward, son of King Henry VIII, the other Tom Canty, a pauper and son of an abusive drunken father. The difficulties which ensued were monumental. King Henry VIII died, and Tom Canty was about to be crowned King of England. Finally, Edward’s true identity was established allowing him to regain his rightful place to be crowned King instead of Tom. Imagine if we were actually princes destined in some dispensation to reign as “...kings and priests to our God...” (Revelation 5:9,10) but living as paupers. Imagine all of the horrors of our lives as paupers were direct results of mistaken or misplaced identity. The similarities between the theme of Twain’s novel and the condition of the church on the earth today are striking. You and I have been born again with God Himself as our Father (John 1:11-13). We have become “...members of the household of God...” (Ephesians 2:19). We have been baptized into Christ as flesh and bone parts of His body (Ephesians 5:30-32). We have the same Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead living inside of us (Romans 8:11). We are ordained to live as Jesus lived (I John 2:6) and to do the works Jesus did (John 14:12). We must escape from our captivity and take our rightful place in the household of our Father. How do we do that? Jesus is our way! This book provides a modicum of revelation as only one small piece necessary to help us move out of our old traditions into the new covenant!
About the Author
Upon resigning from Wycliffe Bible Translators and returning from Papua New Guinea, at the end of 1981 the Lord Jesus started a very disconcerting dialogue with Stan. The Lord began speaking to him about an office of ministry he was not even sure existed today, to a function he certainly did not want. From businessman, to Bible School, to the mangrove swamps of Papua New Guinea as a Wycliffe Bible Translator, The Lord directed Stan in all of these as necessary steps designed to tear down the old in order to begin building the new. Shortly after the Lord revealed the office of ministry to which He was calling Stan, He sent him to the nations to "...train National Christian Leaders...". From 1981 through 1990 doors opened for Stan to travel and minister in 32 different nations conducting over 50 seminars to more than 5,000 ministers. It was an amazing time ministering behind the Iron Curtain before it fell, in war zones, crashing in a single engine aircraft in a jungle, stranded at sea in an ocean-going outrigger canoe, assaulted by a group of ministers because of the Word preached, ministering to and staying in the homes of Heads of State of foreign nations, and a time of supernatural manifestations flowing like water. Blind eyes were opened, deaf ears began to hear, growths disappeared off of bodies, too many supernatural things happened to write down. Stan was like a child on a roller coaster, fully aware all these things were the sovereign doing of God. In the mid 1990's things began to change. The Lord spoke prophetically through another minister that Abba needed to form the heart of a "...father..." in Stan. For more than a year after this prophetic word had come Stan continued to travel to the nations remaining in faith and prayer for the will of the Lord to be done in his personal life and ministry. Then Stan began a new phase of ministry overseeing a local assembly for the work to be done in him. After all of the traveling at the beginning of the ministry, to "...be still and know that He is God..." was the hardest thing Stan had ever done. In August of 2012 the finale of this phase of ministry got under way. At the beginning of 2013 Stan was directed back to the ministry of his beginning, to "...train National Christian Leaders...", and to "...minister Jesus as Foundation..." to God's people everywhere!
