Birthing the Symbiotic Age (Paperback)

In an age of division, a new way forward is being born.

Birthing the Symbiotic Age invites readers into a radically hopeful vision for our shared future. Amid rising polarization, isolation, and cultural unrest, Richard Flyer uncovers an ancient spiritual blueprint capable of healing the fractures of modern life.

Drawing on lived experience and building authentic community, he reveals how small groups of people, committed to trust, shared purpose, and moral courage, can transform culture from within.

Grounded in the way of Jesus yet welcoming to all seekers of truth, this book calls us to rediscover what it means to live for one another instead of against each other.

If you have ever wondered whether real unity is still possible, this guide offers both inspiration and direction for those ready to help birth a more compassionate age.

Inside, you will find:

• A clear, time-tested framework for cultural renewal rooted in local relationships
• Practical ways to rebuild trust, belonging, and shared purpose in your community
• Faith-informed insights that translate into everyday action

The Symbiotic Age is not a theory – it’s already taking shape.

Richard Flyer is an author, community-builder, and faith-rooted cultural strategist whose life's work bridges science, faith, and civic renewal._______________ Trained as a biologist, he studied the communication of pilot whales and dolphins at UC Santa Cruz and San Diego State before earning an M.S. in Biology. His early grounding in living systems science laid the foundation for what he later called Symbiotic Culture-a framework that unites spiritual insight with practical tools for regenerative community life._______________His career has spanned health, education, and grassroots leadership. He pioneered hyperbaric oxygen therapy programs in Nevada hospitals, taught in community colleges and detention facilities, and led nonprofits including the San Diego Food Bank, Neighbors United, and the Nevada Microenterprise Initiative._______________He has also served Sri Lanka's Sarvodaya Shramadana movement, supporting its national network of 5,000 communities and millions of people._______________His work draws inspiration from Jesus and the early church, Gandhi's village republics, and Václav Benda's Parallel Polis. For Richard, following Jesus is not about dogma but about daily practice-embodying love, reconciliation, hospitality, and neighborliness in a world often marked by separation._______________Today, through Symbiotic Culture, Richard mentors leaders across faith, civic, and cultural spheres. In Birthing the Symbiotic Age, he offers a vision for building a Global Commonwealth of 50,000 empowered communities-a parallel polis rooted in love, justice, and mutual flourishing._______________He lives in Oahu, Hawaii, with his wife Marta, finding renewal in the islands' natural beauty, time with family, and the simple joy of "Connecting the Good."
