Bitter Point

Fifteen years ago, investigative journalist Maya Dalton came to Bitter Point looking for the truth behind five disappearances.

She left without answers.

Now an anonymous photograph has arrived at her apartment. A young woman stands at the edge of a dock wearing a rope-knot pendant connected to the old cases. The message accompanying it is simple:

You were right. Come finish what you started.

Maya returns to the isolated Maine town and discovers that little has changed. People still avoid questions. Old loyalties remain intact. And Richard Thorne, the powerful businessman at the center of many of her suspicions, still holds Bitter Point in his grip.

But Maya is no longer the reporter she was fifteen years ago.

Diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer's, she is losing hours, conversations, and pieces of the investigation almost as quickly as she can document them. Her notebooks, photographs, recordings, and alarms have become the only reliable record of what she knows.

When the woman in the photograph becomes the next target, Maya faces two races against time: expose what Bitter Point buried—and hold onto the truth long enough to save a life.

BITTER POINT is a tense literary mystery about memory, silence, and what remains true even after the person who uncovered it can no longer remember.
