Synopsis
The purpose of this title is to describe the vital role Black Britons played in the history of England, Scotland, and Ireland. That role is responsible for the greatest empire the world has known in the Modern Era. The book describes how migrants from Africa, original black inhabitants and those from the colonies shaped the greatness of the United Kingdom. It begins in Ancient Britain’s Stone Age with Celts to Black Roman soldiers who saved the British Isles from being ravished by Germanic barbarians for nearly five centuries. The book highlights the blacks that founded Christianity in the British Isles during the early Medieval Age. The hierarchy of the Church was seeded by the early royals, nobles, and lords identified. Blacks in the spiritual and secular worlds jointly stood as saviors and martyrs for Christianity and civilization brought from the Ancients (Kemites and Nubians) of Africa by way of Rome and Greece. This African civilization and its people would reinforce its presence in the British Isles with Black Moors and Vikings so described. This title covers the height of the British empire under the less restricted religious scenario of most of the Reformists. Quakers and Calvinists, like Olaudah Equiano, did object to the slavery and shared this concern in print and lectures featuring Frederick Douglass and American Abolitionist Movement. After abandoning African slavery, the empire reached its height in 1851 and by 1951 it was nearly devastated by the German assault on the homeland, enormous debt of World War II, and the cost of suppressing the calls for independence from its colonies. To rebuild the homeland’s economy, the UK recruited blacks from the Caribbean. Tensions arouse over “who gets what” in terms of jobs, housing, etc., and race and police riots victimized these migrants from the Commonwealth. Yet, blacks fought back peacefully by sending members to Parliament representing their concerns. In the 21st century, Brexit sparked a recurrence in racial tensions, xenophobia, intolerance, and violence. Yet, Black Britons allied themselves with other migrants from the Commonwealth and found refuge in the UK’s largest cities, particularly London. Black Studies was introduced by supplemental schools ran by black parents. This movement sparked an “Awakening” respecting black history, presence, and true contribution in British, and European society. This esteem value was heightened when Prince Harry married Meghan Markle, an African-American actress. The royal couple has now given birth to the mixed-raced, Master Archie of Windsor, who represents the fastest growing population cohort in the United Kingdom. Racial prejudice in the future will become dormant as it did before African slavery and merit will prevail.
