The Black Man the Father of Civilization Proven by Biblical History

The Black Man, the Father of Civilization, Proven by Biblical History by James Morris Webb is an influential work that argues for the central role of Black people in the origins of human civilization, drawing on biblical narratives and historical interpretations to support this claim. Webb, a minister and scholar, seeks to challenge the prevailing racial attitudes of the early 20th century by offering an alternative understanding of African history and its significance within both biblical and world history. In this book, Webb asserts that Black people were the original builders of civilization, citing figures such as Noah, Nimrod, and the Cushites, who, according to his interpretation, were of African descent. Webb emphasizes the historical contributions of ancient Egypt, Ethiopia, and other African civilizations, suggesting that these cultures provided the foundation for art, science, religion, and governance, long before the rise of European powers. He also connects these historical arguments with the biblical lineage of humanity, positioning Africa as a vital region in the development of religious and cultural heritage.
