Collection of 7 Photographs and 1 Booklet. All Signed. Includes Lynn Watts, Emilia Jaime, Marlynne C. Smith, Sheila Anderson (2), G. Marie, Michele Demby and Barbara Cheeseborough. Different publishers, photographers, places and dates. Presumed circa 1970s-80s. A small archive of Black fashion models from an era where Black women were starting to gain fame in an industry of mostly white women. All images are inscribed and/or signed by the models, dedicated to what we presume to be a makeup studio, Blen Di Roma. Photos range from 8 ½ by 11 on thick paper stock, to 8 by 10 glossies or smaller. All appear to have been promotional photos of some sort, with some of the photos accompanied by notes on physical characteristics. The models thank Blen Di Roma for their work, when an inscription is included. Models include: Barbara Cheeseborough, an American model known for her "Afrocentric" style that she brought to fashion in the 1970s; Michele Demby, an influential model who went from New York to Paris in the 1970s and became part of the first all Black cabine in the modeling world, formed by designer Hubert de Givenchyl Lynn Watts, a model who worked with designer Hubert de Givenchy; two sheets of photos of Sheila Anderson, who was repped by Black Beauty Model/Talent Agency, and who was also an actress; Marlynne C. Smith; Emilia Jaime, who participated in fashion shows, and acted in several television shows, as well as appeared in the movie 13 Disciples. All photos are in GOOD or slightly better condition, with varying amounts of toning, minor wrinkling and other minor wear. Some bear tape scars on the reverse and those made of paper have minor tearing or creasing along the edges.…
