About the Author: David R. Roediger is professor of history and chair of American studies at the University of Minnesota.  He is the author of The Wages of Whiteness: Race and the Making of the American Working Class and Towards the Abolition of Whiteness. Roediger lives in St. Paul, Minnesota.
