Synopsis
An English translation of a manual to the free software package for three-dimensional graphics and animation, which now has 120,000 registered users with 350,000 additional downloads. German computer graphic designer Wartmann begins with baby steps. As with many items in the free software community, Blender is very efficient, fast, and elegant, but is a bit tricky to learn. Version 1.8 is on the disk in versions for Linux, Windows, SGI Irix, Sun Solaris, and BeOs. Annotation c. Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
