Blood and Shadows: Massacre of Maya

In the beginning, there were no vampires. There were only gods who answered blood with power. Forged through ritual and sacrifice, twin immortals were created to end a war. One would seek balance. The other would claim dominion. Together, they reshaped the night—and doomed the world that summoned them. Ixlan turned away from the hunger, choosing restraint over conquest. Ixquic embraced it, building empires of blood and spawn that spread like rot across centuries. Their conflict did not end. It evolved. From ancient temples buried beneath the jungle to modern cities drowning quietly in violence, their war fractures history itself. Each choice leaves scars. Each death echoes. And every creature born of their blood carries the weight of that first sin. Massacre of Maya is the brutal origin of the Blood and Shadows saga—a mythic descent into power, betrayal, and the cost of godhood. This is where the night was born.
