The Blue, The Gold, And The Gray (Paperback)

Paperback. 'The Blue, The Gold, And The Gray' is a fascinating overview of America's history from its discovery by Christopher Columbus in 1492, through its development as Britain established its colonies on its east coast while Spain and France claimed the lands from the Pacific to the Mississippi. It covers the American Revolution where America fought for and gained its independence from Great Britain. It covers the westward expansion of the Americans and the role major gold rushes played in that expansion. It covers the attempted dissolution of the Union of states as eleven, later to be thirteen, states of the southern United States proclaimed their independence, establishing their own Confederate States of America. It covers the American Civil War that followed the Secession of the Southern states. And, finally, it covers the history of a number of the men whose gold discoveries in Georgia, California, and Colorado helped to shape both a country and a state. This item is printed on demand.
