Pat and Chuck Blackley are a photographic and writing team with a love for the outdoors. Their work appears in numerous magazines, including Backpacker, Blue Ridge Country, Country, Family Fun, Outdoor America, and Travel Holiday, and in books by such publishers as Falcon, Farcountry Press, IDG Books (Frommer'’s), Insight Guides, Leisure Publishing, National Geographic, Ulysses Press, and Walking Stick Press.


Cara Ellen Modisett, a native of Virginia, is editor of Blue Ridge Country magazine. A music and English graduate of James Madison University, she is also a reporter/producer for WVTF public radio and performs as a pianist and chamber musician. Cara is a member of the Friends of the Blue Ridge Parkway Advisory Board.
