This volume includes 234 pieces of blue-and-white underglaze-red porcelain from the middle and late Ming Dynasty, spanning 179 years and covering the reigns of nine emperors: Chenghua, Hongzhi, Zhengde, Jiajing, Longqing, Wanli, Taichang, Tianqi and Chongzhen. The production conditions and artistic level of blue and white underglaze-red porcelain during this period have distinct characteristics of the times compared with those from the Yuan Dynasty to the early Ming Dynasty.
