From tragedy to triumph Kevin Saunders has risen to become one of the top motivational speakers in America. Kevin was the motivational coach for Kansas State Football with Head Coach Bill Snyder during what was later known as the greatest turnaround in college football history. After graduating from Kansas State University Kevin worked for the USDA as a federal inspector. During an inspection of a grain elevator in Corpus Christi, Texas he was injured in the worst grain elevator explosion in Texas history. The explosion killed ten people and threw Kevin over 300 feet in the air onto a concrete parking lot where he impacted hard, suffering massive injuries and severing his spine leaving him paralyzed from the chest down. After a year of grueling pain and rehabilitation in the hospital Kevin returned to a life as a paraplegic, completely paralyzed from the chest down. Broken and with a life forever changed, Kevin did not give up. Kevin rose to compete and win as a champion wheelchair athlete and Paralympian. Kevin was named The Greatest All Around Wheelchair Athlete in the World. He won gold medals many times over and was the first person with a disability appointed to the President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports by President George H. W. Bush. Kevin was then the only person reappointed by President Clinton. In 2004 Kevin pushed his racing wheelchair over 2500 miles across America. In 2006 Kevin pushed across five European countries as an international ambassador for health and fitness. Kevin is a noted author, having written five books and continues to compete, speak, and inspire today as a wheelchair athlete and in-demand motivational speaker.
