Printed by King & Baird, Philadelphia, 1856, stated 2nd edition. NOT exLib. VG+ or better cond. hardcover, no dj. Dark blue bds w/ bright gilt lettering on spine -- appears to be professional re-bind w/ replacement pastedowns & eps. Bright & colorful hand-tinted double-page Frontis illustration. 12 plates. 212 numbered pages. I see approximately 1/2 dozen or so pages w/ a very few marginal notations done in soft pencil. The previous owner was in the process of writing a biography of Commodore David Porter, USN, when he passed away, so I will let the next owner choose to keep the notes or to erase. Book is square, straight, tight & clean except as noted, overall VG+ or better cond. Same or next day shipping. Pleae email any questions.
