The Body of Christ Has No Exclusions: Autism, Human Dignity, and a Liberationist Re-reading of Catholic Social Teaching

The Body of Christ Has No Exclusions offers a powerful rethinking of dignity, belonging, and participation in the Church through the lens of autistic experience. Bringing Catholic Social Teaching into conversation with disability theology and Benedictine spirituality, this book shows how autistic lives reveal overlooked truths about reverence, community, and justice. Rather than asking autistic people to adapt to existing structures, the author calls the Church to a deeper ecclesial conversion-one where liturgy, pastoral practice, and communal life are shaped by those at risk of exclusion. The Eucharist stands at the heart of this vision as the table where every body must find welcome and rest. Written with both clarity and theological depth, this book serves parish leaders, pastoral ministers, educators, and families, while offering rich insight for scholars and students. It is an invitation to imagine a Church that becomes more whole precisely as all its members are honoured.
