The editors describe it as a kind of encyclopedia of learning and vocal self-expression, and the chapters can be read in any order. Cross-references inside the chapters point the reader to other chapters and volumes, and nearly every chapter closes with a bibliography. The "bodymind" idea at its center comes from research showing that the nervous, endocrine and immune systems are linked.
