The Bog of Restraint: Where Balance Restores Life (The Seven Bogs of Mars)

The Bog of Restraint
Book Five of The Seven Bogs of Mars

On a world where life is slowly returning, Asa and Saxifraga arrive at a place unlike any they have faced before.

The Bog of Restraint is not broken.
It is holding.

Beneath its quiet surface lies a force that has not faded—but waits. Energy gathers, movement slows, and every step forward demands care. Here, growth is not the lesson.

Control is.

Asa must learn that not all power is meant to be used. Not all paths are meant to be taken. In a living world where even the smallest imbalance can awaken something ancient, restraint becomes the difference between harmony… and destruction.

Guided by the steady presence of Saxifraga and the quiet wisdom of the bees, Asa faces a deeper truth: strength is not proven in action but in knowing when to stand still.

As the bog begins to stir, something beneath it listens.

And what it hears… will decide what comes next.
