Discover a balanced, biblical way to set appropriate boundaries that will prepare your teen to live an independent, self-controlled, successful life. JUNE HUNT, one of the world's leading Christian counselors, shows you how. Using scores of tough real-life scenarios, June helps you learn to use boundaries--each linked to specific repercussions and rewards--to guide your teen through four critical areas of life: home, school, personal, and social. Each scenario is followed by concrete advice on what to do and what to say.Once you communicate the boundaries, your teen has a choice: Cross them or stay inside. At that point, the teenager--not you, the parent--chooses to receive the repercussion or reward. Behavior becomes linked to consequences, building maturity, trust and security.
This thoroughly revised and updated edition includes new material that addresses the ever-increasing impact of technology on teenagers.
Practical and realistic in its tone, June's biblical guidance helps you win--not a war, but a relationship of mutual respect.
About the Author:
One of the world's leading biblical counselors, JUNE HUNT is a dynamic Christian leader who has made landmark contributions to the field of Christian counseling. She is CEO of Hope for the Heart, the ministry she founded in 1986, which today provides biblically-based counsel in 24 languages, and 60+ countries.
June became aware of the need for real answers to real questions in her first job as a church youth director. Her personal experiences with pain and her practical experience with youth and parents led her into a lifelong commitment to "providing God's truth for today's problems." She earned a Masters in counseling at Criswell College in 2007 and has been presented two honorary Doctorates.
Between 1989 and 1992, June developed and taught "Counseling through the Bible," a scripturally-based counseling course addressing 100 topics, in categories such as marriage and family, emotional entrapments and cults, as well as addictions, abuse and apologetics. Since then, the coursework has been continuously augmented, forming the basis for her Biblical Counseling Library.
The Library fueled the ministry's steady growth, including the 2002 creation of the Hope Biblical Counseling Institute (BCI), which equips attendees with practical solutions for life's most pressing problems. The Library also undergirds two weekday radio programs hosted by June, "Hope for the Heart" and "Hope in the Night," the live two-hour call-in broadcast. Together, the programs air worldwide on more than 800 radio outlets.
June has been a guest on numerous TV and radio programs worldwide, including NBC's "Today." She is a regular guest professor at colleges and seminaries and a popular conference speaker, sharing biblical truth that changes minds, hearts, and lives.
June Hunt resides in Dallas, Texas.
