Among adult stem cells, multipotent adipose stem cells can differentiate into osteoblastic cells when seeded on bioactive biomaterials and/or treated with osteogenic factors. Therefore, adipose stem cells are a promising cell source for bone tissue engineering. Suvi Haimi, PhD: Received her Master¿s degree in Biochemistry at Institute of Medical Technology, University of Tampere in 2006. Studied Medical Biomaterials at Regea - Institute for Regenerative Medicine, University of Tampere and finished her PhD in 2008. She is currently a Senior Researcher at Regea.
