Grade 3-4 --A compilation of 17 not terribly scary short stories and poems illustrated with Clark's lively pen-and-ink and watercolor drawings. The traditional stories include such favorites as "The Hairy Toe," "The Three Billy-Goats-Gruff," and "The King o' the Cats." Poems are also standard fare. Most of the selections are easily found in other anthologies or in single-volume versions. The book appears, at first glance, to be a picture book, and indeed, young children will respond favorably upon hearing it.
