Very attractive Victorian edition in box cover - the boards are constructed like shallow boxes, so that when closed, the text block of the book is entirely protected. Light wear to embossed leather covers & one of the edge pieces has a small crack across. Five raised bands to spine & gilt lettering to front panel, embossed with edging & crosses at the four corners. Text block gilded to all edges, dedication neatly inscribed inside front cover; slight toning to prelims & slight but old damp marking to the corners inside the front board but which has not penetrated to printed pages. Internal condition suggests it has been either little or carefully used.
