Book of Common Prayer with Psalter (Coverdale divided into standard 30 day portions). In addition contains "Selections from the Psalms of David in Metre; with Hymns, suited to the Feasts and Fasts of the Church, etc." Leather boards with ribbed spine having gilt crosses and gilt title on spine. Also, pages have gilt red edges. Boards have a covering of white celluloid giving an appearance of ivory. The celluloid on front board has a brass rim and brass clasp with name of owner (Anna) with a date of 1870. There are some small cracks and a small piece of celluloid missing on front (see photo for detail). Rear brass rim and rear portion of clasp are missing. There is a faded decorative cross on front cover. Front free endpaper has been removed. Names of previous owners on front endpapers. There is some penciled doodling on some of the pages. Title page has a small hole near upper corner. The Prayer book is of the Protestant Episcopal Church U.S.A: Certificate 1868 Bishop Horatio Potter, N.Y. Inv. # 9664.
