A charming late Victorian Book of Common Prayer in ivorine boards with clasp and moiré silk endpapers. Bound in pleasing ivorine with matching clasp. All edges gilt, with moire silk end papers.This copy is undated. Dated here from previous owner's contemporary ink inscription.The Book of Common Prayer; and Administration of the Sacraments, and Other Rites and Ceremonies of the Church; according to the Use of the United Church of England and Ireland; together with The Psalter or Psalms of David; and the Form and Manner of Making, Ordaining, and Consecrating of Bishops, Priests, and Deacons. Bound in ivorine with matching clasp. Externally, very smart. Clasp fully functional. Front joint cracked, with closed tearing to moire silk, spine slightly loose but holding. The odd minor handling mark to boards. Cockling and light scattered spotting to moire silk endpapers. Previous owner's contemporary ink inscription to front free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean. Very Good Indeed.
