Printed in London in 1758, this Book of Common Prayer is also bound with The Whole Book of Psalms and A Companion to the Altar, Shewing the Nature and Necessity of a Sacramental Preparation, In order to our Worthy Receiving the Holy Communion. Size 24mo, 5" x 2.75", pages not numbered, collation: Common Prayer - A-U6 in twelves; Companion to the Altar pages numbered pp. 1-84; Whole Book of Psalms A-E11 in twelves. Full red morocco binding with with double gilt border to the front and back covers, the outer border is made up of tiny dots while the inner border is a rope and tulip design. Tooled bands and double outer border to the spine, with rope and leaf circles in gilt to each compartment. All edges gilt, gilt border to the inner turn-ins, marbled paste-downs and end-papers. Condition very good, hinges corners and edges rubbed, leather a bit dry on spine and spine slightly sunned, gilt edges rubbed, lower page edge close trimmed in places, title and first and last few pages a little browned with a couple of tiny spots, other than this the pages are very clean throughout. Prayer Book is unrecorded in ESTC, The Companion to the Altar ESTCN 72063, Book of Psalms ESTCT 88832. Previous owners' names to front end-paper J. Wickham and Sophia Heare.
