Drab grey cloth dull and worn at spine edges with small holes and wear at head & tail, some pages age browned including title, mainly to outer edge in, text not affected. Small octavo. *Bookplate inside front board "Mr William Morris No1434 Case 12" a small paper oval label also with 214 written and a bookseller label top of page "G. Mann, Bookseller, Cornhill". Another name "Isabella Willoby" on FFEP and a 3rd name in pencil top of title page "Thomas Rend Wilkinson, The Polygon, Ardwick, Manchester (An affluent area at this time in history). We can find no immediate connection on the card to state definitely it was THE William Morris, the library numbering might be the proof of ownership? He would have had visits to Manchester and he also had strong connections to our home town, here in North Staffs through Sir Thomas Wardle (Mill owner and philanthropist).
