A Book of Hours contains a cycle of meditative poems about the life of Christ. Based on the liturgical calendar of the church, these poems reflect on the story of Christ's time on earth, from the Annunciation to the Ascension. Biblical quotations and artwork accompany the poems.
While purposely reflecting the design of its lovely medieval predecessors, A Book of Hours uses language that speaks directly to modern life. Reeves is a contemporary poet writing in the language of our own time, and his stirring poems powerfully connect the abiding message of the Christian story with the challenges of faith in our present world.
Whether used for personal devotions or given as a gift, A Book of Hours will provide spiritual nourishment for years to come.
