Book of the Book

Book of the Book in the Danish press

"Man is a book, a reader or a writing or possibly doesn't exist at all. Instead man is a universe that is readable and the author of life itself. Almost as with Kierkegaard, where existence is written or will be wrote. Book of the book, /I> is like metaphysics in motion, capturing the multiple dimensions of existence, and when writing becomes open to interpretations, to be re-read: not as the will to power, but as the will to read. A beautiful book, outside and in." STANDART

"Meeting Jamal Jumá is far from superfluous - a small crack has been opened into something fascinating and different" KRITELIGT DAGBLADET

"Book of the book by Jumá is on the whole a fine appetizer. Like an educated guide he leads the reader in an ideology that may seem very dense and alien, but he actually manages to present two hundred variations of the same theme." WEEKENDAVISEN

An Iraqi poet, Jamal Jumá was born in Baghdad and received his academic education in Copenhagen, where he has lived since 1984. He has edited and published numerous manuscripts of Erotica, including The Perfumed Garden and A Promenade of the Hearts, and The Forbidden Texts. This infuriated some religious and political establishments around the Arab World, resulting in the confiscation and banning of these books in Arab countries.

He has published collections of poetry, including Book of the Book (1990), A Handshake in the Dark(1995), and Diary of a Sleepwalker (1998). He has been translated into several languages.
