My Book of Prayers to the Lord of Miracles

In 1655, an earthquake devastated Lima, but a wall bearing the image of the crucified Christ, painted only a few years earlier, miraculously remained standing. Since then, devotion to the Lord of Miracles has persisted through the centuries, inspiring countless spiritual fruits, charity, and conversion of hearts among the Peruvian people and throughout the world. This devotion is not centered on “magical” miracles, but on the living presence of Christ, who remains with his people amid suffering, encouraging perseverance in faith, hope, and love even in difficult times.

My Book of Prayers to the Lord of Miracles captures the true meaning of this tradition: uniting human suffering to the redemptive suffering of Christ on the cross, following the testimony of Saint Paul (“In my flesh I complete what is lacking in the afflictions of Christ,” Col 1:24). It is not a sentimental image, but a deep invitation to contemplate the mystery of the Redeemer, to find meaning in suffering, and to renew hope. Through prayers, reflections, and a novena especially inspired by the Lord of Miracles, this book offers a path of authentic prayer and inner transformation.
