Ramen noodles may be the answer to affordable eating in the 90's. Ron Konzak, author of The Book of Ramen, says the average person's food budget is buying less and less each month. He says that because of this problem, a lot of people have turned to eating low-cost Ramen. In fact, sales of Ramen have soared and now total more than ten billion dollars per year. If the total number of noodles used per day in this country were connected end to end, he says, they would circle the earth more than 110 times.

Ramen noodles are quick and easy. But eating a lot of plain noodles and flavored water can become boring. Konzak has discovered that Ramen can be easily improved. In his book, he offers dozens and dozens of simple and delicious international-style recipes which use these inexpensive noodles as their basic ingredient.
