The Book of Sacramental Magic (Paperback)

A complete course in Christian Ceremonial Magic which explores the sacramentals and sacraments of the Christian tradition from the perspective of occult philosophy

This path-defining book presents a complete system of Christian ceremonial magic, based upon the sacramentals of the church and on the seven sacraments. Often understood as mere symbols or even simply "reminders," their use confined to a select few, the sacraments are truly powerful magical rites which can be used by anybody.

Beginning with a detailed discussion of magical philosophy and an esoteric interpretation of the Christian story, The Book of Sacramental Magic presents a complete course of ceremonial magic, suitable to occultists and ordinary believers alike.

The system includes ceremonial magical practices such as banishing rituals and internal energy work, rituals for the invocation of the saints and angels, and guides to transforming traditional practices like novenas, the consecration of sacramentals and the psalms into powerful works of magic. Finally, the book presents ways to modify all of the seven traditional sacraments as magical rituals for home use, including a home mass which can be performed by anyone.

Ultimately The Book of Sacramental Magic aims to liberate the many wonderful and powerful rituals and devotions of the sacramental Christian tradition from their confinement to decadent institutions and rigid doctrines, as well as being an essential addition to the magical archives of both seasoned and student practitioners.

Stephen Mandes Thomas is a longtime practitioner of magic, astrology, and energetic healing who also happens to be a cradle Catholic. Initially training in the Golden Dawn tradition, he has also been initiated in Taoist and Druid magical traditions and ordained to the subdiaconate in the Liberal Catholic tradition. Rather than drawing away from the Catholic faith of his birth, he found that studying magic in fact drew him back toward his traditional faith, now informed by magical philosophy. He lives in Maryland with his wife, Jennifer, his stepson, Asher, and his daughter, Melissa.

He blogs weekly on substack and also offers divination work.
